Village Life

Welcome to Paradise on Earth. Here there is no noise, no pollution and no bought entertainment.
There are no stores in Buggio, but we do have an Agriturismo “Ca de Na” where you can book a table a day in advance.

The village is car free, and there are four parking lots to park at.

The currently 66 inhabitants all grow their own food to some extend.
The plots are mainly located next to the parking lot. The crops are watered by an irrigation system where water is led from the river.
Every winter the hard rain falls are messing up the tubes, so every spring the men go up the mountain to fix it again. The river depends on the local mountains to have snow on april 1st, in order to have water at the end of august, according to the locals. The water is mainly melted ice from the Alps … and it serves a nice cold dip on a hot summers day.

A little bit of everything
Traditional white beans, here grown by Pole on Ferrasse, a two hour hike up from Buggio.
Lino is fixing the irrigation system where water is led from the river to the plots.
