class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of Valle Nervia has Festas, so people visit one village after the other all summer, because every weekend offers a locally authentic happening somewhere.<br>Due to C19 the summer of 2020 all were cancelled, but we hope the future will bring them back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Buggio we set up tables that can be booked when calling Lionelleo, and we can serve about 800 people<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Festa della Liberazione, 25 Aprile<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flowers are laid by the monument in remembrance of those who fell during WWII and sometimes a trompet is played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The whole village hikes up the mountain (ca. one hour) to attend mass and everyone brings food to share afterwards.<br>It is a joy of a festa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>San Giovanni, always on June 24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is mass in the afternoon inside the church, and a festa in the evening, starting around 7pm going on till midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our local Pro Loco is preparing food and selling tickets that can be traded for food from different stations:<br>* Ticket counter where tickets for the menu are bought<br>* Bar selling red\/white wine, beer, soda, water and coffee<br>* Pasta dish and fries<br>* meat from the grill<br>* apple fritters<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After dining there is live music with a band, and dancing for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photos and film to come<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Porchetta, sometime in July, to be announced<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two open bond fires on the lower church square are rosting baby pork.<br>The other food stations are open as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is live music and dancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photos and film to come<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Party sul Ponte, sometime in July <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a pot-luck where everyone brings a dish and a bottle.<br>There class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Festa del Gran Pistau<\/strong>, <strong>usually first thursday in August, but to be announced<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Alpinis were the freedom fighters during the war, and they still invite new members into their union.<br>Every year in August the local club meets at the small church wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"San Rocco 2019\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DKZ06WO1E4k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every year a Priore and a Prioresse are appointed to arrange the next year celebration. They are in charge of cleaning and decorating the church, of buying and preparing food, setting up tables and chairs and making sure there is wine and soda. Locals are good at volunteering with their help.<br><br>The festa is held up on the mountain by L&#8217;ausegno, and most take the hike (45 minutes). We start with 11am mass at the church and then eat in the shade of the chestnut tree afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a long tradition for the youngsters of the village to go up there the day before and spend the night in tents or in some of the homes up there.
